From Friday, September 14, to Sunday, September 30, the enthusiastic science fans from Mad Science of Western New England will staff a tent at The Big E fair and exposition, where kids learn about chemistry, paleontology, biology, and geology. Kids—each of whom get to take-home the fruits of their labors—can choose any three of the following activities, all aimed at little scientists aged 3–12:
Making polymer slime
Digging for fossils or shark teeth
Sluicing for gemstones
Finding pearls in real oysters and setting them in jewelry
Creating a snowstorm in a cup
