Without knowledge of scientific law, children are prone to break it by walking on ceilings, inventing perpetual-motion machines, and using reverse alchemy to turn gold into candy. Keep kids scientifically legal with today's Groupon to Mad Science. Choose between the following options:
- For $20, you get a three-hour science camp for grades K–5 (a $45 value).
- For $80, you get a Simple Simon birthday party for up to 20 children ages 4–12 (a $165 value).
Mad Science will bring the party to your home, or you can book a shindig at the Mad Science Lab, opening April 29 on West KL Avenue.
Mad Science uses hands-on experience coupled with entertaining programs to feed children's curiosity and enhance science literacy. Education sneaks into young neurons under the guise of amusing activities, ensuring that children depart with new knowledge whizzing through their craniums. The three-hour science camp, split into K–2nd and 3rd–5th grade groups, will engage future Niels Bohrs with experiments on circuits, air pressure, Newtonian physics, Stallone’s Law of Exploding Robots, and more. Camps run intermittently from June 20–August 26 and take place on weekdays from 9:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1p.m.–4p.m.
During the Simple Simon birthday party, Mad Science enthralls up to 20 children with 45 minutes of hands-on science demonstrations featuring hydrophobic sand, melting Styrofoam, floating objects, and more. Each guest makes Mad Science slime to bring home and squeeze to his or her heart's content, and the birthday star receives a Mad Science T-shirt to commemorate their existence anniversary.
Though not yet holding camps and parties, The Mad Science Lab will celebrate its grand opening of scientific pedagogy and entertainment on Friday, April 29.
