Ranked Indianapolis' best theater on WRTV's 2010 A-List, Madame Walker Theatre Center showcases African-American culture and performing arts with an abundance of concerts and signature programs. Legendary rapper DMC, formerly of Run-DMC, will take the 935-seat theater's main stage with a flurry of syllables as he performs a set of Run-DMC classics and demonstrates proper Adidas-tying. Before DMC’s performance, winners of the National Super Bold Battles of the Bands Competition will pump up crowds with original tunes and by twisting their instruments into balloon animals. An exclusive after-show party will be open to the first 225 audience members at the door, and 100% of concert proceeds will go toward the House of Restoration, Africa in its efforts to raise awareness and funds toward Sierra Leone relief efforts.
