About Madison’s Family Wellness
There is indeed a family behind Madison's Family Wellness: A husband-and-wife team of licensed acupuncturists and nutrition consultants. The "family" in the clinic's name also refers to the people they treat. They specialize in ultra-gentle acupuncture treatments suited to children and seniors and to the entire community around them. To make holistic wellness accessible to people at a variety of income levels, the duo looked to Chinese tradition and developed a community-style acupuncture program. Several patients (and, if they like, their families) relax in a room at once as an acupuncturist makes the rounds, which creates a supportive atmosphere and lowers treatment cost. So does a sliding-scale fee system.
Drawing on their twin masters degrees in oriental medicine, the team also tackles ailments from arthritis to fibromyalgia with herbal medicine and other Chinese medical treatments. Among them are cupping and the massage style known as Tui Na, a form of rhythmic compression that has been around for thousands of years.
