What You'll Get

Get a hometown hello without running into your old prom date (unless you went to Clifton High) with today's deal for salivary savories in a small-town atmosphere. With today's Groupon, $10 gets you $20 worth of pub grub and drinks at The Main Street Pub. Housed in a quaint green clapboard building with bright white trim, this family business in Clifton is pulled up next to the only remaining railroad crossing in Fairfax County. Camp out at a cozy table amid the hunter green walls and watch the game on TV, chat with regulars about the weather, or perch on a barstool with a drink and chat with the friendly staff about your favorite living castmembers of Veronica's Closet.
Though this quaint watering hole will tackle your throat tickle with six on-tap beers, locals stick around for a healthy dose of breaded and bunned goodness that everyone in the family can legally enjoy. The unassuming pub cooks one of the best burgers in the area: a half pound of beef on a luxurious brioche roll, with lettuce, tomato, and your choice of two toppings from a variety that includes cheese, bacon, jalapenos, marinara sauce, a fried egg, and more ($7.99). A generous BLT on sourdough includes a whopping six slices of bacon ($7.99), and the french dip is smothered in melty provolone that enhances the power of its magical jus ($7.99). All sandwiches come with your choice of side, such as redskin potato salad, fries, or veggies. Pair hedonistic french onion soup ($4.99) with a healthy garden salad ($7.99) to balance your yin and yang, or head straight for the decadent pearls of beer-battered jumbo lump crab meat ($12.99) and never look back. The Main Street Pub's menu also features succulent entrees, including a tender 6-ounce grilled filet ($16.99) and ultimate pub fare fish 'n' chips ($9.99).
Hardy up your pub tummy after a night out in the city with a breakfast tortilla wrapped around fried egg, cheese, tomato, onion, salsa, jalapenos, and a sobering trio of meats (bacon, sausage, ham), served with a side of fruit, fries, or hash brown ($6.99). The chummy waiters at The Main Street Pub will treat you as if you were a cousin of the family, and will work to ensure your food whims and inflexible burger demands are met with alacrity.
- There's a small-town familiarity here. Servers swing by to lean on your table and chat about the food, the weather, baseball games, anything really. They're also quick to offer a drink refill or an extra plate for sharing. In another cute touch, the silverware comes wrapped in a gauzy black ribbon. – Julia Beizer, Washington Post
- Best burger ever...a beautifuly [sic] crafter piece of meat with your choice of two great toppers no extra charge. I decided to splurg [sic] and get 3--chedder [sic], bacon, fried egg. Oh god, heaven heaven heaven. – Mireille C., Yelp
- It's a good place to take kids - the table next to us sent their kids over to the nearby train (old caboose that kids can play on) while they waited for their food. – nat t., Yelp
