Your hands are the astronauts of your body—the first explorers to make contact with whatever's in your orbit—and your feet are the blazing rockets that propel you into space. Don't let your rockets burn out and fall off into the Atlantic Ocean. Take care of your trustworthy extremities with today's Groupon to Maisie Dunbar Spa Lounge: $38 gets you a luxurious Bluffa Jo SugarButter Mani-Pedi, a $90 value. This deal doesn't just spiff up your hands and feet, it invigorates the senses with a nourishing hand bath and the underutilized art of serious exfoliation. Grab your mom, bestie, or hang-nailed life-coach and kick off a girls' day out with mani-pedis.
Your friendly nail technician will love and care for your cuticles, deftly whip your nails into shape, and soak your dainty fingers in a nourishing bath. Using Maisie Dunbar's own sugarbutter smoothie from her Bluffa Jo product line, your nail-care sensei will exfoliate your dead skin and moisturize your newly freed healthy skin. As the drying winter air descends on the city, moisturization and exfoliation will be your sole defenses against your papery, cracked, and peeling palms crumpling like autumn leaves each time you try to perform a simple task, such as picking up the remote or slapping a chump.
The benefits of your mani-pedi last longer than the decadent experience itself. Because your hands are always out in front, the condition of your nails and skin will affect people's impression of your age, hygiene, and the likelihood of your owning a 1996 Dodge Neon. A sophisticated look is never complete without youthful hands and strong nails. Climb the ladder at work and get more helpful attention on your next shopping trip with well-manicured hands. Milk the rest of open-toed shoe season with your polished toes, and rub your silky feet together under the covers on a chilly night.

The Continuing Adventures of Manny & Peddy
Older folks and non-nail owners might associate the phrase mani-pedi with the popular 1950s children’s television program The Continuing Adventures of Manny & Peddy, the story of two bumbling friends and the embarrassing, yet educational, situations in which they find themselves. Here’s a transcript from a 1952 episode:
Manny: Peddy, are you done painting that silo yet? President Teddy Roosevelt is going to be here any minute!
Peddy: Sh-sh-sure thing, Manny! Let me just balance my open can of paint on the top of this ladder! (climbs down) Say, Manny, what’s the big deal with Teddy Roosevelt, anyway?
Manny: You featherhead! Teddy Roosevelt was one of our nation’s greatest presidents! By passing the Antiquities Act of 1906, Roosevelt and his successors were able to create numerous national parks and monuments we still enjoy today!
Teddy Roosevelt: (enters) Did someone mention The Antiquities Act?
Manny & Peddy: (in unison) President Roosevelt!
Teddy Roosevelt: Bully!
Peddy: Mister President, don’t lean on that ladder!
(sploosh!)
Although 750 episodes of Manny & Peddy were produced between 1951 and 1956, the film archives were destroyed in 1991, when the Smithsonian Institute of Television and Radio proclaimed them not very good.

About Maisie Dunbar Spa Lounge
Maisie Dunbar feels that she was born to be an artist, though the human body is her canvas and her palette is made up not of paint, but of makeup and quality skincare products. Within her artist's studio, Maisie Dunbar Spa Lounge, she and her staff take a holistic, nurturing approach to everything they do—whether they are smoothing rough skin, massaging stressed muscles, or coating nails in OPI polish. Maisie’s dedication to the beauty industry has earned her numerous celebrity clients over the years as well as appearances at the Grammys and features in O, The Oprah Magazine and the Washington Post, according to the Silver Spring Patch.
Although Maisie’s toolbox contains trusted, high-end products from Essie and Moroccanoil, her continuing search for quality led her one step further than most spa owners to create her own makeup line—BluffaJo Cosmetics. These oil-free, mineral-based products allow skin to breathe normally while still managing to protect it from airborne pollutants and abrasive AM radio waves.
