Chef mixed grill special was overpriced so be sure to ask before you order any specials. That was my mistake. The service was excellent and the food tasted very good.

What You'll Get

Before the competition got fierce, Prohibition-era gangsters settled their disputes with Nerf-gun shootouts and steak-eating contests. Time travel back to days of romantically reckless meat munching with today's Groupon to The Majestic Restaurant in the historic Fitzpatrick's Saloon building. Choose between the following options:

  • For $20, you get $40 worth of dinner and drinks.
  • For $7, you get $15 worth of breakfast, brunch, and lunch.

The Majestic's food and atmosphere whisks diners back to Prohibition-era speakeasies with live jazz every night and platters anointed with hearty steakhouse fare. The dinner menu centers heavily on a regal array of hefty, dry-aged steaks, such as a 16-ounce T-bone ($39), as well other carnivorous fare, including a trio of grilled lamb chops ($32). Greet the crack of dawn with an appropriately labeled nametag and breakfast items such as the quiche lorraine ($8.50). Midday noshers can enjoy the lunch menu, complete with a salmon BLT ($10). Whatever the meal, The Majestic's extensive wine list and signature cocktails from acclaimed bartender Shawn Moriarty lubricate larynxes with a selection featuring more than 80 varietals, great for topping off a night of savory slabs, flirtatious frippery, and sensual knife games.

Stepping into The Majestic transports diners back into the jazz era without the worries of a matter/antimatter-powered wormhole generator. The dining area is nestled between the original pressed-tin ceiling and the blue-and-white-tiled floors and lined with a long, mirrored bar of shiny wood. The Majestic's days as a speakeasy can still be heard emanating from the circa 1910 piano, where jazz musicians play every evening and during the Sunday jazz brunch from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

About Majestic Restaurant

In the long, narrow dining room of the historic Majestic Restaurant, one wouldn't have a hard time imagining the spirited saloon that once resided there. Behind the restored 19th-century bar and under a pressed-tin ceiling, barkeeps shake, stir, and pour classic craft cocktails alongside more than 200 types of whiskey. Downstairs, a speakeasy-style jazz club features live performances nearly every night of the week, which are best enjoyed while wearing Prohibition-era garb such as top hats filled with beer. Both the main dining room and downstairs club serve a full dinner menu of tender steaks, cold-water lobster tails, and classically prepared Scottish salmon.
