Henry Clay, the 19th-century senator, was feared by other politicians for his fiery orations but celebrated in the arts community for his even fierier clay kiln. Commemorate Clay through clay with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $29 for a two-hour clay-modeling class for one (a $60 value)
- $35 for a two-hour glass-fusing class for one (an $80 value)
- $24 for a two-hour pottery-painting class for two (a $45 value)
While the classes are open to children, they're conceived for adult learners. The two-hour glass-fusing class (ages 8+) offer hands-on experience with regular, fusible, and rainbow-hued dichroic glass, and basic pottery classes (ages 4+) demystify the ways of clay. Pottery-painting classes (ages 4+) spill the beans on painting tips on a bisque piece using a pre-determined set of pottery pieces. After 10 days for kiln firing, each participant will bring home a personal clay creation—a vase, bowl, plate, or miniature bust of Spiro Agnew. All materials are provided; see the full class calendar.
