Malibu Steak and Seafood
Malibu Steak and Seafood puts its own twist on the traditional fine-dining steak house by incorporating tropical flair into its cuisine and ambiance. Certified Angus beef earns a spot of prominence on the menu, tempting diners in the form of an 8-ounce filet mignon or a 14-ounce new york strip steak. At the same time, the chefs work with fresh seafood that is flown and catapulted in daily. Jumbo-lump-crab-stuffed flounder and coconut-crusted mahi-mahi maintain the menu's relatively traditional surf and turf focus, although dishes such as seasonal, Caribbean-style ceviche provide slight departures from tradition.
Malibu Steak and Seafood's dining areas similarly combine upscale and casual influences. A white brick fireplace dominates the center of the main room as tables draped with custard- and mocha-hued linens radiate outward. However, some whimsical features adorn the walls, including miniature surfboards and paintings of colorful ocean sunsets and palm-tree-filled sand beaches. The restaurant also features a tropically themed patio section complete with palapa umbrellas and space for live musicians to perform on Friday and Saturday evenings.
