What You'll Get
Ziplines originally were invented for just two functions: sneaking hamburgers over the Berlin Wall and zazzing up presidential entrances to State of the Union addresses. Discover function three with today's Groupon: for $40, you get an adventure package at Mammoth Cave Adventures in Cave City, Kentucky (an $80 total value). The package includes:
- A 90-minute zipline adventure (a $55 value)
- A ride on the Super Swing (a $25 value)
At Mammoth Cave Adventures, which is located on a 60-acre farm next to Mammoth Cave National Park, visitors crisscross a verdant forest canopy on a course of six ziplines and three sky bridges. Equipped with a provided harness and helmet, thrill seekers zoom through foliage while dangling from the suspended wires like marionettes in the talons of a griffin. Experienced guides lead each excursion, ensuring safety and dispensing wisdom about the abundant wildlife. Adrenaline catches its second wind on Mammoth Cave Adventure's Super Swing. A rope elevates riders 35 feet in the air, where the pull of a release cord plunges the apparatus back toward the ground. G-forces take hold of bodies and tousle hairdos before enormous cables swing riders back into the air, unveiling scenic vistas of a ridge below.
Zipline riders must wear closed-toe shoes and weigh between 100 and 275 pounds. A secondary course for riders between 40 and 100 pounds is available for an additional charge.

About Mammoth Cave Adventures
Treetops sway gently as birds flutter over their branches, breezes waft around their trunks, and humans careen between them at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. Mammoth Cave Adventures' series of seven ziplines across two courses trail from tree to tree, each line standing slightly higher than the last as visitors decked out in helmets and harnesses speed across the cables, teeter over two skybridges, and perch on platforms between each lofty tier. Seasoned guides lead the 90-minute excursions as they spout environmental and historical trivia about the rolling hills and dense forest of the 60-acre course, which is located just outside of Mammoth Cave National Park.
The company's new Drop Tower allows guests to experience the scenic view of Mammoth Cave National Park while dangling 70 death-defying feet above the ground. For slower-paced adventures, a stable of gentle equines ferries guests along serene trails and countryside vistas during hourlong horseback rides, which are designed for all equestrians regardless of their skill level or the number of sugar cubes in their pockets.
