Stroll our nation's capital and give your taste buds a workout as you indulge on Italian cuisine from locally owned and family-run eateries. Mangia DC's Italian Food Tour takes off along the streets of the Dupont/Logan Circle area. Guided by an energetic, knowledgeable guide with a passion for food, you'll stop in at three or four of the historic neighborhood's best restaurants and hidden culinary gems. You'll also learn about the history, art, architecture and lore that make D.C. great, while also brushing up on regions of Italy. Fill both your stomach and your mind on this tasty, educational and cultural exploration of the city.
The tour lasts 2.5 to three hours. Throughout the course of the tour, you’ll cover about one mile at a comfortable pace. The walking will be broken up with stops at restaurants every 20 minutes or so, where you’ll get a chance to sit down and relax a bit before forging—and foraging—onward.
The tour will have four tastings at 3-4 local eateries. At each, you’ll sit and sample at least one dish. This should be enough food for lunch, so please plan accordingly. Locations may change without notice.
The tour will always meet near public parking and a bus or metro stop. The last stop on the tour will be within a few blocks of the start and the tour guide can help you find your way to the closest metro station or wherever you’re headed.
