On the Mangos website, owners Jaime and Susy Perez describe their array of treats as comfort food—"the kind your mom would have made (if she were to spoil you every day)." There's plenty to please kids of all ages on the menu of traditional San Antonio snacks: refreshing raspas in flavors such as wedding cake and chamoy, shaved ice blended with real fruit, and plenty of sweet/savory/spicy options incorporating dill pickles and chili powder. (Parents with an eye on health can also order a round of yogurt-granola parfaits or all-fruit cups, packed with half a dozen kinds of seasonal fresh fruit.) At tables in the sherbet-colored shop, groups also gather around hot snacks such as hot dogs, chicarrones con chile, and buttery, cheesy corn in a cup.
