What You'll Get
British playwright Nick Payne, who magically transformed physics into romance for the hit Constellations, now performs similar alchemy with the mysteries of the human mind for his latest brainy drama, Incognito. Tony nominee Geneva Carr (Hand to God), Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Theatre World Award winner Heather Lind (The Merchant of Venice) and Drama Desk nominee Morgan Spector (Russian Transport, Boardwalk Empire) are tasked with bringing a combined total of 21 characters to life in three interrelated stories, two of them inspired by real-life cases. In one, a pathologist swipes the brain of Albert Einstein in an attempt to unlock the secrets within, and in another, a seizure patient suffering from a memory disorder finds himself trapped in the past, awaiting the return of a lost love. Finally, there's a neuropsychologist on the verge of a breakthrough -- her first same-sex romance. Tony winner Doug Hughes (Doubt) directs Manhattan Theatre Club's U.S. premiere of a play that the London Telegraph called "astonishing and original," now making its off-Broadway debut at New York City Center.
