Although birds are a non-judgmental bunch of aviators, they enjoy a good view when they fly above parks and walkways gazing at the scalps of flightless humans. Give flocks something to fly for with today's Groupon: for $160, you get a Brazilian blowout (a $350 value) at Marc Harris at one of three locations: on Avery Street, Newbury Street, or Broad Street in the Financial District. Additional charges apply if more time is needed due to length or thickness of hair ($25 per 15 minutes extra).
The Brazilian blowout is a thoroughly popular method for eradicating frizz and achieving a gleaming mane of tossable, healthy head hair (see here for the FAQ, and here for details of the Brazilian blowout process). Over the course of about 90 minutes, one of the expert stylists at Marc Harris will use a nutrient complex and proprietary polymer system (formaldehyde-free) to create protective sheaths of protein around each strand of hair, smoothing rough cuticles like sandpaper being dipped in a vat of melted throat lozenges. The radiant results last up to 12 weeks and can be washed and dried sans damage (although the effect is best prolonged via Açai hair-care products). With your new, pulchritudinous tresses, you'll be able to put silky lions to shame at the zoo or become an instant celebrity for hosting the first nesting pair of endangered beauty eagles, which only rear their young in the most gorgeous of dos.
All three Marc Harris locations provide the same high-quality level of service, and the stylists are highly trained in the techniques inherent to the Brazilian blowout system. Marc Harris and his team of fellow follicle aficionados established the salon 20 years ago at the Newbury Street location and have been going strong ever since, taming unruly skull brambles and leaving head coverings glowing as bright as a bonfire fueled by glow sticks.
New Brazilian blowout clients only. You can redeem your Groupon starting August 2; not valid December 11–December 24. For health reasons, this service is not available for pregnant or nursing women.
Marc Harris has won prestigious awards, including The Improper Bostonian's 2010 Boston's Best Hair Straightening and 2010 Boston's Best Hair and Makeup. Yelpers give the Financial District location a 4.5-star average, and Citysearchers give that location a full five-star average:
