- $199 for a one-day sailing certification course for one person ($395 value)
There’s an option to pay an additional $39 for an ASA certification and $25 for the accompanying book.
Marina Sailing preserves the art of sailboat operation through classes helmed by ASA-certified instructors. Basic sailing lessons set students afloat for two three-hour sessions. The first session revolves around water orientation and fundamental principles of sailing. Students learn the parts of the boat, how to turn away from and into the wind, and how to tie a variety of knots. The second session reviews lessons learned in the previous one in addition to sailing maneuvers such as single-handed tacking and jibbing, which keeps one hand free for yo-yoing.
