What You'll Get
Creative ideas, like fireflies, flicker brilliantly at eyelash level for a mere moment before flitting off into the darkness, where scientists believe they are eaten by fairies. With today's Groupon, capture your visionary visions before they escape. For $20, you get $40 worth of classes or parties at Marmalade Skies Art Studio. The vibrant studio's helpful staff, extensive project selection, and comfortable crafting space provide an artsy nest for the newly inspired.
The brainchild of studio owner Debbie Tawse, Marmalade Skies aims to put the "art" back in "party"—and the "party" back in "dance party"—with classes focusing on repurposed and recycled art. Classes are offered six days a week and include enough colorful options to make Roy G. Biv jealous. Elementary school-aged kids can meet up for Friday afterrnon art club ($20), or adults can color outside the lines without incurring heavy fines from chromati-cops in the BYOB Pinot Picasso painting class ($38). Children ages 4 to 5, meanwhile, can go elementary with the preschool art class, The Elements of Art ($28).
You can also sign up for a party centered around your pick of passion, be it sun catchers, headbands, or frosted garden stones. View examples of completed crafts and project prices here before reserving adult parties and kid parties.
Besides increasing your home's collection of one-of-a-kind mosaic-tiled mirrors and bejeweled candelabra, today's Groupon to Marmalade Skies waters the entire family's artistic seeds. The sense of accomplishment might even inspire your unemployed younger brother to dust off his clay-speckled smock from fifth-grade art class and make something of his life. Marmalade Skies is open open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m. with late hours on Thursday and Friday (until 10 p.m.), and Sunday 11 a.m.–4 p.m.
- Great place to put your creativity hat on and try your hand at a variety of crafts, including mosaics...Staff is very friendly and helpful. Spend one hour or many hours working on your project; it's all good and a great time to boot! – KathrynEliza, NextStop
