What You'll Get
The kayak is an ideal water vessel, much easier to operate than a barrel and far less prone to coin-thieving magicians than a cruise ship. Float freely with today's Groupon: for $20, you get either a one-person (a $40 value) or two-person (a $50 value) kayak rental for two hours from Marsh Creek Watersports in Downingtown.
Marsh Creek Watersports woos aquatic explorers with an expansive library of lake vehicles, with one- and two-person kayaks eager to chaperone bodies through waves to lands of bigger biceps. For two fresh-air-laden hours, life-jacketed adventurers can paddle the calm waters of the 535-acre Marsh Creek Lake surrounded by lush greenery and undomesticated wildlife. The scenic puddle teems with gilled swimmers such as catfish, sunfish, go fish, and largemouth bass waiting to be caught by fishermen or dealt to a group of kiddie card players. Kayaks are available for rent every day from April through October.
In addition to boat rentals, Marsh Creek Watersports peddles refreshments, windsurfing and sailing lessons, and fishing equipment. Post-paddle, visitors can frolic through the surrounding 1,705 acres of Marsh Creek State Park ripe with picnic areas, wormholes to Earth's outpost in Zeta Reticuli, and hiking trails.
