Creating a masterwork of art can be like wandering through a maze: after a lengthy period of self-reflection and contemplation, you’ll still probably starve. Appreciate the figurative risks and transcendent joys of artistic creativity with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get a two-hour painting class at Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party Studio (up to a $25 value). The Braselton location is BYOB, and the Suwanne location sells both beer and wine.
Masterpiece Mixers and its team of professional art instructors provide a place for artists of any skill level to enjoy a relaxing evening of painting and crafting. The schedules at the Braselton and Suwanne locations offer a bevy of creative courses, such as Abstract Daisy, where students learn how to paint America's least-edible flower; Wine & Grapes, a course that honors Honus Wagner's pregame meal; and Zebra Wine Glass, where students apply stripes to a chalice. Masterpiece Mixers provides all supplies, so there will be no need to bring a backpack full of crayons and a Bunsen burner to melt them into paints. When a giant gong signals the end of class, each student will have his or her own creation to bring home.
Children's classes are often available on weekends, as well as occasional Mommy & Me sessions. While this Groupon is good for a two-hour class (most of which are valued at $25), you may also sign up for a three-hour class and pay the difference when you arrive. Register for your class online or via messenger hamster.
You must be 21 or older to consume alcoholic beverages. Children under 15 must attend with an adult 18 or older.
Although Masterpiece Mixers has yet to receive many reviews, it has more than 900 fans on Facebook:
- I had the greatest time AND my daughter asked me 3 times if I painted the "masterpiece" or if I bought it!. Thank you Masterpiece Mixers! – Michelle L., Facebook
Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party Studio
The instructors at Masterpiece Mixers Paint & Party Studio supply the canvases, paints, and brushes, requiring visitors to bring only their creativity. Studios lead all-level painting classes that last up to 1.5 to 3 hours and focus on subjects ranging from the natural, such as birds and flowers, to still-life guitars, vases, and wine bottles. In some themed sessions, instructors also teach groups to paint abstract pieces or create their own variations on famous landscape paintings that, unlike the originals, can include dinosaurs. Some sessions follow a special date-night structure. At every location, the staff members encourage visitors to bring their own wine, beer, and snacks if desired.
