An English translation of French comedy master Molire's most popular play, The Sisterhood tells the rollicking romantic story of young lovers Henriette and Clitandre, whose path to the altar is blocked by the prospective bride's mother, Philaminte. Supported by Henriette's aunt and sister, Philaminte insists that her daughter marry a mediocre scholar who panders to that trio's intellectual pretensions. Meanwhile, the couple must contend with several more meddling family members and friends before true love emerges triumphant. This translation by acclaimed British playwright Ranjit Bolt is coming to The Latvian Society in Philadelphia.
