Members get two workouts per week that are designed by a trainer. These workouts focus on corrective exercises and help clients reach their goals. They can be performed in the morning or evening on most days—the facility attempts to accommodate each client’s schedule.
Though the staff of MaxHealth Center is happy to treat symptoms of pain, they want to use those symptoms as clues to track down the source of discomfort. Like owner Dr. Robert Pomahac, a former hockey player turned chiropractic doctor, many of the staff members left other careers—think CFL player, competitive swimmer, and corporate employee—to follow their passion in pain management.
This firsthand experience with everyday aches in their own lives guides them as they treat patients in a 5,000-square-foot facility, whose menu boasts a blend of eastern, western, and intergalactic therapies. Beyond a cluster of private treatment rooms where patients receive massages, acupuncture, or spinal adjustments, a fitness center sprawls throughout half of the clinic's space to let newly limber bodies stay healthy with personal training and nutritional counseling.
