About McLean's Restaurant

“Biscuits, gravy, extra meat and a lot of coffee.” That’s how Style Weekly sums up its Reader’s Pick award winner for Best Breakfast, McLean's Restaurant. The eatery has welcomed crowds for hearty meals made the old-fashioned way since 1965. Current owners Dionna and Barry Kelleher, overseeing their always-smiling staff as they shuffle bountiful plates through the spacious dining room flanked by exposed brick and sunny-yellow walls, run the casual eatery. Bacon, fatback, bologna, and sausage patties or links accompany three-egg breakfasts and platters of housemade french toast and pancakes dotted with blueberries or chocolate chips. Later in the day, sides such as coleslaw, mashed potatoes, or fried apples join country-fried steak, flounder filets, and crispy chicken tenders. They end meals with a cavalcade of housemade desserts, including fruit cobbler or red-velvet cheesecake. While small groups eat amid the crowd, large parties can reserve McLean's Restaurant’s private dining room, perfect for hosting birthday bashes and gatherings after softball games or competitive compliment matches. McLean’s Restaurant is open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day of the week, plus the chefs reopen the kitchen for late-night service on Friday and Saturday starting at 11 p.m.
