I purchased this paper on Feb 28th! I should receive a paper every Sunday. I have received 4 papers…. Worst service ever! I been extremely patient and tried working with them but at what point is enough enough. You pay to get weekly paper and don’t get it. Wouldn’t recommend!!
Well, we received two Sunday papers since about mid January. Weekly calls, emails to The Star
Customer Service assure we will get a Sunday paper the next Sunday.
Nothing is delivered but disappointment.
Groupon is a good service. Have used it for years. Bought this service for older person that does not live at the address to be delivered to and is not computer literate.
I don't need to go into details because every other person that has reviewed this has it covered. Groupon says I used my code but I never got it. KC Star has no idea I had one. I can't get a hold of anybody to give me a refund. Very bad experience.
What a pain in the butt! First off, the paper didn't arrive so I had to call the Star, which involved about a 25 minute wait time. They didn't fix the issue or respond, so I tried messaging Groupon. Finally that got the paper to arrive - if it's been a few years since you got the KC Star, be prepared to be underwhelmed. The Sunday paper was slightly bigger than the old Monday papers, and the coverage has gone way downhill. They didn't even have the score or writeup from football games that kicked off at 3pm the day before. The Groupon deal also included online coverage, which wasn't activated and required another call to the KC Star and another long wait. The agent couldn't find my record for several minutes, and finally said that my account would be activated the next day, which of course it wasn't. Then I went to the Star website and filled out the online form requesting help, which indicated I'd hear back from them within 24 hours. Of course I didn't, but at least by the next day I could indeed sign in online. This was really not worth all the effort, particularly given how crappy the paper has become.
