Hatha yoga - participants move their bodies slowly and deliberately into different poses, designed to challenge their flexibility and strength while focusing on relaxation and mindfulness
Vinyasa yoga - participants move from one pose directly into the next; they move with their breath from pose to pose and rarely hold postures for longer until the end of the session
Chair yoga - a gentle form of yoga during which participants perform postures while seated and/or with the aid of a chair
Slow flow yoga - participants hold postures for longer periods, and the transitions between poses are a little slow
Restorative yoga - during this gentle, slow, still style of yoga class, participants perform long, passive holds in a series of 4-6 restful poses
Yoga and meditation - this class takes advantage of the incorporation of meditation and breathing to help improve a person's mental wellbeing
Total body sculpt - designed to pay attention to participants' muscles and help them tone their bodies
McFetridge Sports Center's tireless staff hosts non-stop activity for 18 hours a day, seven days a week, taking advantage of every square foot the massive facility has to offer. Trainers take to the courts with tennis pupils, practicing on six tournament-quality indoor courts. Pickleball courts have been recently added to make room for this fast growing sport. Perhaps the most iconic amenity at the Center, though, is its ice arena, which hosts lessons in figure and hockey skating year-round, in addition to competitive play in various ice sports. Those not on the ice can catch the action from one of the 1,200 seats in the stands.
What Happy Yogis Say
Vaishali: Love the mix of class options. Olivia is the best for a challenging workout class set to great music! I also like Yogalates class for stretching work.
Moesha: So far I been taking yoga and it has been great. The teachers are good they have their own style of teaching yoga. So far I learned how to breathe better, deal with my anger. I became more flexible and more peaceful during and after the yoga. It’s a small class and very clean. I love going to yoga.
Adriana: The teachers and staff are so amazing and accommodating. The schedules work with mine and I feel I'm getting more than my money's worth!
