Q:

Is this class too basic if I have already taken a film based photography class in high school and one at a college level? If so, do you plan to offer any deals on advanced classes?

Dan M.  asked on  Apr 3, 2012

A:

Hey Dan, Yes this may be based on your level of experience. The key is if you feel you have learned all manual settings, compsotion rules such as Rule of Thirds and leading lines, and lens choices and perspectives. Those are all taught in the beginning class. We will be offering an an intermediate in the Arlington area in June if you would like to attend. Please email me at mckayphotography@sbcglobal.net and I will work out a special past student rate for you. David

Q:

Will there be cameras to rent/use during the class?

Jessica R.  asked on  Apr 2, 2012

A:

Hi Jessica, There not loaner cameras for use in our courses. However, MANY people come to our classes and learn photography without a camera. They then find they are very well prepared to know exactly what it is in a camera system they will want to purchase when they are ready. As our courses are classroom style, you can take great notes and you will learn a TON in our class.. Please join us, we would love to have you there! David McKay

Q:

I am interested in purchasing two vouchers for both of my daughters. The problem I am running into is that one of my daughters is 16 but the other is 14. They both recently worked hard to save up and buy their own digital camera's which they just purchased last week. They are both quite interested in photography, especially the younger daughter, and I thought I would surprise them with a professional class to kick off their hobby. Since my youngest is only 14, I would have to accompany her, but unfortunately, I don't own a digital camera, nor am I interested in learning the skill of photography; thus my question is, since I know the youngest to be quite a mature young lady and won't cause a bit of trouble, and since her older sister will be present in the class with her, would you allow her to attend as well if I purchase a Groupon for her also?

A:

Hello, That is so exciting that they are so interested in photography. Not only that, they saved and purchased their own cameras. Great for them!! Yes it will be no problem as long as you are ok with it. Everything is a safe environment in a class, and she will also have her older sister so it sounds great. Please sign them up! When they arrive, if they have any questions, or you have any concerns, please see our registraion table and they will take great care of them! Thanks! David McKay
