The Brothers Grimm collected tales about a child-gobbling witch, a trio of self-mutilating surgeons and a were-hedgehog who played the bagpipes. But The Mountain Digby is a tale so twisted that even the unflappable Grimms would have found it "too f#cked up to include in their collection." Part morbid fable, part doomed love story, the one-act musical follows the Digby brothers as they attempt to turn a hill into a mountain -- no matter the cost. Written by Cassie Ahiers and Anthony Lombard, this brilliant and beautifully weird production features the musical compositions of Brad Kemp and the shadow puppetry of Karly Bergman. Ahiers directs its world premiere at MCL Chicago.
