Families can get their annual quota of autumnal activities during one visit to McNab's Corn Maze. Visitors enter fall's perennially perplexing star, the corn maze, and bob and weave through 7 acres of paths lined with tall, swaying cornstalks, and the occasional wise-alec scarecrow advising passersby to go both ways at once. After mastering the edible labyrinth, corn stalkers can stroll over to the petting zoo to catch up with the farm animals and hop on a hayride to take in pastoral panoramas. Beginning October 7, guests can also pick through the pumpkin patch filled with wannabe jack-o'-lanterns and aspiring Headless Horseman head doubles for an extra charge.
McNab's Corn Maze
A careworn blue tractor rests near the tree line, its rusted exhaust puffing out from under the hood. The faint imprint of tire marks leads off into the lone opening in an otherwise solid wall of corn. At approximately 7 acres, McNab's Corn Maze covers a swathe of land where families wend through twists and turns, or shout helpful tips from the two-storey watchtower overlooking the labyrinth. Elsewhere, hayrides transport groups around the farm, where they can glimpse crops such as squash, gourds, and pumpkins, as well as genuine farming equipment such as plows, tractors, and the robotic horse that drives tractors. At the petting zoo, kids can caper about with adorable farmyard friends such as goats, piglets, and an emu.
