Guests can join other groups or round up 29 friends for launch trips on a brand-new boat equipped with a grill and bathroom on board. Fishing rods and bait are included, but you have to bring your own fishing license. Public launch trips are not held on a regular schedule, but McQuoid’s attempts to head out when the fish are biting, with the schedule for open launch and private trips determined a week or two in advance.

McQuoid’s Inn is, as its motto says, a “place for all seasons.” Cabins and condos—some of which can accommodate up to 12 guests—are equipped with outdoor fire pits for the warmer months and indoor fireplaces for the cold ones. As for the Inn's activities, there are adventures year-round. ice fishing fills days throughout the wintry months, with expert guides on hand to take visitors to the best spots. Summers see bait-toting visitors fishing on the lake, either with the help of an individual guide or aboard the Big Mac, the Inn's new launch boat. Up to 30 guests can climb aboard the Big Mac, grab one of the provided St. Croix rods, and then completely ignore the fish in favor of using the on-board grill and stereo instead. Depending on the season, canoe and snowmobile rentals are also available.
