Sporting clays is a mode of clay-pigeon shooting in which participants move through ten-to-fifteen shooting stations, shooting clay pigeons with shotguns. The natural-terrain course simulates the unpredictability of live-quarry shooting by administering clay pigeons at a variety of angles, trajectories, speeds, elevations, and distances.
