Great exhibit! The audio that they played throughout the museum heightened the experience tenfold. I'd definitely suggest going if this is something you're into. It is quite dark in there, but I felt like that just amplified the experience. There were also a few exhibits you could interact with as well.

The exhibit is artistic, unique, and rich with enough historical detail to create a welcome creepy and realistic mood if you want to be scared. The rooms (or torture chambers) are well laid out and more expansive than what you could imagine from outside. I usually love the set designs in haunted houses but hate the actors and jump scares. These exhibits made me feel like I was immersed in a haunted dungeon without all the annoying actors, so I could actually linger and study each vignette with more attention to all the details. Very tastefully done and informative.

About Medieval Torture Collection

The Medieval Torture Collection reminds visitors of the horrific injustices inflicted by madmen and tyrants upon the most unfortunate living in the Middle Ages. Throughout 4,000 square-feet, terrifying yet historically accurate exhibits and life-like reenactments showcase over a hundred repulsive torture devices, practices, and weapons used in Medieval societies.

The museum's six rooms each boasts its own creepy theme. For example, one room houses the pendulum, a horrifying device that involved a swinging blade that slowly dipped towards the prisoner's body, eventually tearing through their clothes and skin. Another room features the grisly practice of strapping a bucket of rats onto a captive's torso, the application of heat forcing the vermin to claw through the stomach and chest. After guests tour the museum, a micro-art exhibit provides some relief, featuring almost 30 ultra-tiny paintings and miniature sculptures visible only through microscopes.
