About Medieval Torture Collection
The Medieval Torture Collection reminds visitors of the horrific injustices inflicted by madmen and tyrants upon the most unfortunate living in the Middle Ages. Throughout 4,000 square-feet, terrifying yet historically accurate exhibits and life-like reenactments showcase over a hundred repulsive torture devices, practices, and weapons used in Medieval societies.
The museum's six rooms each boasts its own creepy theme. For example, one room houses the pendulum, a horrifying device that involved a swinging blade that slowly dipped towards the prisoner's body, eventually tearing through their clothes and skin. Another room features the grisly practice of strapping a bucket of rats onto a captive's torso, the application of heat forcing the vermin to claw through the stomach and chest. After guests tour the museum, a micro-art exhibit provides some relief, featuring almost 30 ultra-tiny paintings and miniature sculptures visible only through microscopes.
