If a café is simply a place to sip coffee and read, then maybe Meshuggah Cafe isn't just a café. Sure, coffee drinks abound, and there's a healthy selection of egg sandwiches, bagels, and café fare to be had. But the baristas also pour craft microbrews and wines by the glass, and serve sandwiches, salads, and pizza. In honor of their Missouri roots, they've named their flatbread pizzas after literary figures from the area, politely ignoring the fact that none of them ever wrote a book called "Fun Times at Meshuggah Cafe." Guests can tuck into the Mark Twain (ham, onions, and parmesan), Maya Angelou (sausage, onion, peppers, mozzarella), or T.S. Eliot (curried chicken, roasted peppers, garlic, feta).
