Six nights a week, Mesita Rockville Center stays open until until 1 a.m., which makes sense after one glance at their menu. Most of their starters—think corn-on-the-cob slathered in chipotle mayo, and nachos topped with an over-easy egg—double as perfect late-night treats. Don't make the mistake of thinking this is purely a night owl spot, though; there are plenty of reasons to stop by at traditional dinnertime, too. Chefs whip up upscale entrees, such as pan-seared salmon with honey-spiked chipotle, as well as Mexican staples, including pulled pork tacos, chicken enchiladas, and burritos. And Latin musicians often fill the dining area with music, to boot, evoking an atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional Mexican cantina or David Byrne's living room.
