About Metroflex Gym
The commercialization of the gym industry during the 1980s spawned plenty of big-box facilities. In 1987, it also spawned Metroflex Gym. Founded as an alternative to corporate chains, Metroflex has diverted from cookie-cutter blueprints since day one in order to offer its members a raw but rewarding training experience.
Here, you won't find plasma TVs or machines that spit out jellybeans after every rep. You will, however, find equipment that's been handpicked by professional trainers as well as a strong support system, all set to motivating music. This equipment includes dumbbells up to 200 pounds, Full MMA section, and bumper and iron plates; along with 15 squat racks, 10 bench presses, and 8 platforms. Unique equipment like tires, sleds, kegs, logs, battle chains, bands, sledge hammers are also available. In fact, members often cheer each on and push each other further—even if they've never met. Amidst all the grunting, chalk, and iron, informal competitions often unfold, allowing members to determine who's stronger without shoulder-pressing each other's cars in the parking lot.
