Very educational - much more so than a winery tour. Nice to have pairings of food. Extra like how to open bottle and pour were more intended for the school end but no problem in us as general public learning it to. Would recommend be it for personal knowledge (as in our case) or for school certificate.

In Metropolitan's case, that's four parts hands-on experience to one part book learning. When working toward a certification, students spend the vast majority of their time behind the bar, where they learn not only recipes, but also speed, accuracy, pouring techniques, and crowd control. The classroom portion covers basic spirits and liqueur knowledge, provincial liquor regulations, and job search methods beyond "make sure your dad owns a bar." Anyone who is simply looking to improve their home pour game can sign up for a one-day seminar on a specific topic like bar chef skills (muddling and juicing) or a bartending flair skills.
