A comic opera wouldn't be complete without the usual hilarity of mistaken identities and unexpected surprises -- and Le Nozze di Figaro is no exception. Widely considered as Mozart's best and funniest work, the opera continues where The Barber of Seville left off, telling the story of a "single day of madness" at the palace of Count Almaviva. In the aftermath of his marriage to Rosina, the count's palace becomes a tangled web of love affairs -- the pageboy Cherubino courts the countess while the count pursues the maidservant Susanna, who is betrothed to the wily Figaro. As the count conspires to steal Susanna, Figaro, his fiancée and the countess maneuver to embarrass and expose the scheming count. Experience one of the craziest days seen on the operatic stage when Le Nozze di Figaro heads to New York's Metropolitan Opera House.
