Most states have made drinking alcohol at home illegal due to the proliferation of home facial-tattoo machines. Enjoy alcohol free from the temptation to tat like Mike Tyson with today's deal: for $7, you get $15 worth of roast beef sandwiches, potato skins, and drinks at Metzger's Pub, located in the heart of West Seneca. This offer is not valid for Metzger's fish fry.
A friendly, family-owned establishment, Metzger's has been serving hearty, no-frills American fare in a jukebox-humming public house since 1955. At the top of the menu, there's Louisiana Cajun fries ($3.25) and cheddar-cheese-topped potato skins ($6.50). Farther down are heavy-hitting beef, steak, and seafood entrees. Metzger's signature sandwich is its USDA-choice slow-roasted roast beef ($7.50), sliced to order and served with freshly cut French fries. Chicken challengers can conquer Metzger's jumbo wings ($10.25 for 20), topped with mild, medium, or "suicidal" hot sauce. To cleanse esophagi, Metzger's offers wine, mixed drinks, and an array of domestic and imported beers.
In between bites, pinball wizards can play Metzger's arcade games. Bring your clavichord on Friday at 10 p.m. for the open mic night; the supportive audience encourages aspiring musicians to play any ballad, be it about baked beans or becoming captain of a cruise ship filled with parrots who only know how to say "sockpile."
Not valid with any other offers.
- What caught my eye on this day was their Rib Eye Steak Sandwich. It’s hard to find a pub that offers one that doesn’t have grizzle; for me chewing chunks of fat can totally ruin a sandwich. However the Rib Eye was a fantastic choice and the flavor in the beef really came out in the sandwich. – Don Burtless, BuffaloEats.com
