A prizewinning concert pianist born in Israel, Amir Katz is acclaimed for his live renderings and recordings of several great cycles by some of the world's most respected romantic composers, including the complete sonatas and Impromptus by Franz Schubert, the 48 "Songs Without Words" by Felix Mendelssohn and Frédéric Chopin's 21 Nocturnes. For this performance at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, he'll continue his Schubert salute with the Wanderer Fantasy and 4 Impromptus, as well as Bach's Partita No. 2 in C Minor and Franz Liszt's Six Paganini Etudes. Of Katz's playing, Rondo Magazine wrote, "This man possesses such a refinement of tone, such sense of touch, such finesse in his hands, his head and his heart that one can only kneel before so much delicacy, so much suppleness." Stick around after the show for an artist's reception.
