Bendy your backy and stretchy your hammy for eight buckies per classy with today’s Groupon. For $40, you get five yoga classes at Miami Yogashala (an $85 value). Get your stretch on at one of three Miami area locations: Sunny Isles, Brickell, and South Beach. The only difference among the three is location; all facilities are free of roaming magma beasts, and overall expertise and quality is standard across the mats.
Miami Yogashala ‘s friendly, enthusiastic instructors are fully certified and know how to help students sweat and stretch until they’re calmer, more energized, and more revitalized than the 217 rechargeable AA batteries that power Greater America. If you’re new to yoga, this is a great chance to learn the downward dog, upward dog, and the omniscient narrator.
Yoga stretches your muscles, relieving stiffness and pain; it also increases flexibility and strength (deep core muscles support each pose), which will improve your range of motion, balance, and posture, all vital to moving up in the corporate world, seeing over the steering wheel, and slicing your morning bagel.
There are a wide variety of classes from which to choose (type “Miami Yogashala” into the client finder and pick your location to see them). The studio uses a multi-level approach to make sure participants get the most from class. Learn the basics with a beginner’s level classes, challenge yourself on the path to wielding the Yoga Flame with intermediate classes, and become a mind- and body-bending yoga master with advanced classes. The schedules are slightly different depending on location, so non-time machine owners should make sure to check the schedule for the location matching your chosen Groupon.
Yoga enthusiasts thoroughly enjoyed their classes at Miami Yogashala, giving the studio a perfect five stars on Yelp and Citysearch: > * Definitely the best Yoga studios in Miami. Miami Yogashala and Brickell Yogashala are both awesome. They both teach Power Yoga and all the teachers are great. – Jennahas, Citysearch > * They have a great variety of classes and hours, and you can also find Yogashala studios in Brickell and Sunny Isles. I usually go to the Sunny Isles, I love it! – heidy arellano, Citysearch
Poetry of the Body
In addition to being great for you physically and mentally, yoga is also an art of self-expression, paralleled only, perhaps, by the limerick. The real magic, however, happens when the arts of yoga and limerick come together:
There once was a flexible gal,
Whose yogic skills never did fail,
When forgetting her keys,
She just pulled in her knees,
And squeezed through the slot for the mail.
Genevieve’s yogic technique,
Was in serious need of critique,
But her clumsy half-lotus,
Made classmates take notice,
And to her, they chose not to speak.
There was an old Yogi of note,
Who was heard to have said, and I quote,
“It is better to bend,
In the presence of friends,
Barring friends, one could use a small goat.”

About Yoga Svana
Like most naturally athletic people, Meredith Feinberg was accustomed to being good at every sport. And yet when she took her first yoga class in 1992, she just couldn't seem to make her body do what she wanted, so she gave up after a few weeks. Then she suffered a debilitating injury that prevented her from participating in other sports. Determined to keep moving, she gave yoga another try, and kept at it until it became easier and easier. She loved it so much that she founded her own studio, Yoga Svana.
Here, she teaches Vinyasa-based classes that combine traditional exercise and yoga and pump up clients with energetic music spanning several decades and genres. Her homey, welcoming studio also offers more than 30 classes a week in Vinyasa flow, prenatal, Kundalini, and Dharma yoga. Yoga Svana even offers kids yoga classes, helping youngsters achieve the level of flexibility necessary to fold themselves up and hide in their lockers during boring school assemblies.
