Q:

Do you teach teen girls in the age of 12? My daughter is 12, likes to draw, and she is mature. Can she take the Intro to Watercolor with you? Thanks.

Li T .  asked on  Jul 18, 2012

A:

Dear Li, Most of my students are adults but if she can sit through 2 hours class and listen and follow instruction, I believe it shouldn't be a problem.

Q:

I have had lessons in watercolors before but not sure if I need more technique demos. I am familiar with what watercolors can do but not sure I can create them myself at this ppoint. Any advice on which class to take? Also what does the watercolor / drawing class entail? Is it a focus on painting or drawing or both depending on what I choose.

Irene B.  asked on  Jul 18, 2012

A:

Dear Irene, If you have some idea (have taken classes or read books, painting on your own etc) how watercolor works then you are welcome to take the blue class on the schedule/booking page. Instructor (mostly me) will work on individual basis so you can bring whatever you would like to work on. Students at "Watercolor/drawing" class would work on their own project whether watercolor or drawing but not needing step by step instruction, so yes, it depends on what students choose to do.

Q:

The title advertises this as a groupon for the BYOB session- but is this also valid for taking the daytime class "watercolor: beginner to advanced"? thanks!

Andrea B.  asked on  Jul 17, 2012

A:

Hello Andrea, For "watercolor: beginner to advance" class, we do not give step by step demo and instruction but rather work on one on one basis for each student's work and level. If you have no idea where to start, what to do, Intro to watercolor(pink class) would be better class but if you have taken some watercolor lesson before and would like to work on your own image, you are welcome to join the regular blue class!

Q:

I don't see any age restrictions mentioned. Is it possible for my (very mature!) 14 year old son to join me in taking the classes? He is an art lover and it's very difficult to find classes for his age group that don't involve macaroni and glue! Thanks so much!

Robin C.  asked on  Jul 17, 2012

A:

Dear Robin, Most of my students are adult and we do have some teenage students time to time. I believe 14 year old would be mature enough to join the class. No more macaroni and glue! ;)

Q:

Is this valid for any class, including the Intro to Watercolor class?

A. B.  asked on  Jul 17, 2012

A:

Hi A.J. Yes, Intro to Watercolor is good class for someone who are new to watercolor or someone who never had any art lessons.

Q:

The "Two Two-Hour" classes option means that 2 people can come to the class or that one person gets to go twice?

Michael Z.  asked on  Jul 17, 2012

A:

Hi Michael, Two classes are for one person. I encourage people to take more classes so that they actually can learn how to paint! One time would be fun, second time would be more comfortable and confident you would feel. :)
