For $4, time warp your tots with a children's ticket to the Bay Area Renaissance Festival, held on the Museum of Science and Industry grounds (a $7 advance value, or $10 at the gate). This year's festival takes place, rain or shine, every Saturday and Sunday from February 13 to March 28, as well as Friday, March 19—the Renaissance Fest's School Day—from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Small ones will delight at the fantastical characters waiting inside the Medieval Monster Museum, a new attraction to the festival this year. Marvel at vampire-slaying weapons, chance upon fairies and trolls, and discover magical beasts of all kinds. Stop by the Pirates' Feast to break bread with Captain Tiberius Bedlam and Captain Bêlit, or sip fine teas at the brand-new Royal Bakery of Fittleworth. The Renaissance Festival caters to all ages and interests, with 20 stages, specialty shopping, and a wide range of eating options. The festival is held at 11315 N. 46th St. in Tampa, conveniently located near I-75. Festival guests receive free parking.
