The deal was a huge disappointment. The Groupon said it was for a four hour class, it was actually two hours. The word "mixology" was bit of a misnomer. The class was about making shots. The entire class was extremely disorganized. The facility was dirty. The bar was poorly stocked. The class was very crowded. The staff explained that they had not expected so many people and had not expected to be holding a regular class at that time. I'm not sure how that was possible, as I had to book our reservation in advance by phone/email.

Participants take part in a 4-hour mixology class where they learn to make cocktails, mixers, and garnishes in a hands-on class set in a bar

Like baking a cake, mixing a drink requires precise measurements and the restraint to not ingest so many ingredients that you ruin your own birthday party. Become a power-mixer with this Groupon.

Choose from Three Options

  • $45 for a mixology class for one person (a $99 value)
  • $89 for a mixology class for two people (a $198 value)
  • $169 for a mixology class for four people (a $396 value)

In each four-hour mixology class, students learn how to whip up cocktails, mixers, and the garnishes that complete each drink. See the list of class dates here.

About Midwest Bartenders School of Indianapolis

The Indianapolis 500 and the Kentucky Derby have more in common than the fact that they are both huge national sporting events: they've also been staffed by graduates of the Midwest Bartenders School. Open since 1993, the school teaches aspiring bartenders to pour more than 200 varieties of tasty cocktails. Students hone their skills behind an actual bar and can further their studies by enlisting in supplementary courses in beer and wine, bar management, and bar flair, wherein they learn such tricks as juggling bottles or barstools.
