Mikato Steak and Sushi
At Mikato Steak and Sushi, presentation is everything. The purposeful plating of each delectable sushi roll reflects the ingredients inside. The Fire Volcano roll, for example, features a california roll base topped with a lava-like mound of tomatoes, mushrooms, green onions, crab, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. The Green Castle, on the other hand, looks more refined, befitting its regal name—green soy paper neatly holds together fresh tuna, avocado, asparagus, and spicy crab. And the chefs don't stop at sushi; winners of the People's Choice Award in 2010 for Louisville’s “Sushi in the City” event, they also take veggies and proteins like beef and shrimp to create hibachi entrees and bento boxes. The restaurant's interior is just as elegant as the food, with bold walls, drop lighting, and minimalist art.
