Mike Shannon's Steaks and Seafood
You probably know baseball player and game announcer Mike Shannon for his standout performance in three of the Cardinals' World Series teams, for his record-setting 26 game-winning RBIs, and for his many classic catchphrases behind the broadcast mic. Yet at Mike Shannon's Steaks and Seafood, the baseball legend offers yet another way to get to know him—by breaking bread at his restaurant.
Diners can play to the strengths of the menu by designing their steak dinner from the meat up. After choosing a sturdy foundation of ribeye, prime rib, or a 12-ounce filet, they can peruse a list of toppings including applewood bacon and a fried egg, peppercorn crust and brandy cream sauce, or a citrus chili hollandaise with jumbo lump crab. The menu takes on lots of other favorites too, with fresh-caught cold-water lobster and yellow fin tuna. A wine list more than 12 pages long also earned the eatery top prize from the Riverfront Times for 2012 Best Restaurant Wine List and has also been named Best Upscale Sports Bar and Best Post Cards Game Hang Out by Alive magazine.
