What You'll Get
Since the dawn of humanity, man has longed to conquer the ocean, which is why the invention of the boat was followed swiftly by the adoption of the high-five. Celebrate man's triumphs with today's Groupon: for $89, you get a four-hour pontoon-boat rental from Millerton Lake Marina in Friant (a $180 value).
The seafaring staff at Millerton Lake Marina provides rental pontoons for groups of 10 or 11 passengers to enjoy a half-day on the water across 40 miles of shoreline around the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. Open year-round, the Millerton State Park marina houses a stable of water stallions ready to storm the tides, leaving hoof-prints in their wake. Putter around the clean waters for up to four hours for morning rides from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or for sunset cruises from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. As the vessel coasts across the lake, guests enjoy views of the scenic shoreline dotted with area wildlife or take part in the tradition of swapping knock-knock jokes with the fish population. Boaters are welcome to bring their own refreshments or stock up on provisions at the marina's snack bar.
