Minhas Craft Brewery, the oldest of its kind in the Midwest, walks guest through the production of its skilled suds-crafting processes during guided tours. Led by an amicable guide, each one-hour tour begins with a brief chronicle of the town and brewery before guests take in a short video documenting Minhas's historic facility, its plans for the future, and its best-of blooper reel. A 30-minute trot through Minhas's brewing floor and bottling chamber follows, allowing curious imbibers a firsthand glimpse at a legendary process that began more than 160 years ago. Posttour, patrons kick back and relax amid the Lazy Mutt Lounge's vibrant décor and burnished wood furnishings as they sample a variety of Minhas's signature brews, which may also include experimental concoctions and malted-hop malt balls. Today's Groupon also grants guests half off one of four flavors of New Rhinelander bunny craft beers, which come bottled in bomber-style 22-ounce bottles.
Minhas Craft Brewery
Since its humble beginnings in 1845 as a winter-only operation, Minhas Craft Brewery has flourished into a 300,000-square-foot facility sprawled across 7 acres of land. Premium brews, craft brews, and malt liquors highlight the company's extensive inventory of handcrafted libations, and a variety of sodas caters to underage gullets. Guests can also load their brains with intoxicating factoids at the brewery's Herb and Helen Haydock World of Beer Memorabilia museum, where brewery artifacts dating from the mid-1800s to the 1960s are proudly displayed among collections of model cars, trucks, trains, and hovercrafts from the period.
