What You'll Get
Creativity can strike at any moment, whether you're near a canvas and brushes or beside a slumbering strongman and many rolls of toilet paper. Learn to recognize opportune moments with today's Groupon: for $55, you get one month of children or adult art classes at the Mission Art Center (up to a $130 value) in Orange. Mission Art Center also offers a free class to all new students.
Shabnam Zafarmand founded Mission Art Center seeking to inspire Orange County artists-in-training while instilling children with a passion for the arts and helping adults refine techniques and acquire new hobbies. One month of classes includes four sessions for visually expressive pupils, giving each participant four extended opportunities to perfectly replicate The Garden of Earthly Delights or create charcoal storyboards of the Desperate Housewives pilot.
Depending on skill level each canvas-coating student can acquire skills in sketch penciling, color mixing, and texture in a variety of media from pastel to watercolor to acrylics. Individualized instruction and small classes ensure all students receive support and constructive criticism. Mission Art Center provides all materials—except oil paints—to fertilize creativity inside minds that are unconcerned with worries about supply costs.

About Mission Art Center
Since discovering her love of drawing as a little girl, Shabnam Zafarmand has turned art into her life's work. Over the years, she has participated in international art shows, won oil-painting contests, and even taught art at a middle school—an experience that certainly comes in handy at Mission Art Center. There, Shabnam has shared her artistic wisdom with both children and adults since opening in 2005. Though she specializes in realistic and portraiture oil painting, Shabnam doesn't limit the Center's curriculum to just that. She also leads classes in acrylic, watercolor, sketching, and drawing in an effort to broaden the creative abilities of burgeoning artists of all ages.
