What You'll Get
For those with a “suite-tooth,” Mission Chamber Orchestra’s latest concert How Suite It Is delivers the goods, while also offering a serenade, a sparkling overture and one of the best loved violin concertos of all time. The MCO will fill San Jose’s Trianon Theatre with the delights of Dvorak’s romantic Czech Suite and Bela Bartok’s suite of haunting Rumanian folksongs. Rounding out the program are Rossini’s bubbling, energetic overture to La Cenerentola and Elgar’s elegant Serenade for Strings. As an added treat, violinist Alexander Aisenberg, celebrated veteran of the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, Odessa Philharmonic and Heidelberg Chamber Orchestra, joins the ensemble to perform Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, one of the most popular romantic concertos since its premiere in 1844.
