About Mission City Creamery
Chris Leahy's been making ice cream for nearly two decades, but it wasn't until a few years ago that he considered turning his passion into a business. After an intensive ice-cream-making course at Penn State, he was ready—and Mission City Creamery was born. His vision: to serve gourmet ice cream that's made by hand, every day, using locally sourced, organic ingredients.
Today, Mission City Creamery is doing just that. All dairy ingredients are organic, and purchased from Strauss Farms. The small batches of ice cream are made from scratch in the shop, and served along with hot sandwiches and fries, root-beer floats, and ice cream cakes. Ice cream flavors are available on a rotating basis, but include choices such as cookies and cream, chai tea, honey lavender, pistachio pineapple, and Mexican chocolate.
