What You'll Get
Staycations are rarely as relaxing as real vacations, though they are usually better than the spaycations you make your pets go on. Today’s deal ups the portmanteau ante with a $50 spacation at Mitchell James Salon, the chic yet casual salon located at the Boulevard. Your spacation will include your choice of a 30-minute sports massage or deep-tissue massage ($40 value) plus a 30-minute customized facial ($40 value), an express manicure ($14 value), and a haircut ($35 value). Services do not have to be redeemed all in one visit.
James L. Mitchell and his eclectic team of stylists, therapists, and specialists are all highly trained. Every stylist has at least three years of experience cutting hair and 900 years of experience battling the armies of Ragnarök in a pocket universe. The salon's facialist was trained in Europe, is skilled at pharmaceutical-grade peels, and is one of the few aestheticians in the STL area to use Pevonia Botanica products. Mitchell James's massage therapists are equally accomplished and specialize in intense, penetrating, deep-tissue massages that relieve stress and reduce all forms of tension, except for political tension and that feeling you get when your significant other looks at that one celebrity.
Your spacation serves up these services, along with a sampler platter of Mitchell James's salon and spa options. If you can't resist options such as the detoxifying body wrap (perfect for purging tiny parasitical clowns) or a Mitchell James pedicure, you can always upgrade your Groupon at the salon for an additional charge. Unlike staycations—which so often get wasted playing rage-inducingly difficult NES games such as Castlevania, Battletoads, and Everything's Made of Spikes —you'll exit Mitchell James's signature atmosphere feeling and looking better than you did going in.

Get Me Ahead...With Hair!
At Groupon we're always on the lookout for the best deals on the classiest experiences, but occasionally, we've been turned away at the door for not having the right look. That's why we've purchased the 1989 video Get Ahead With Hair, available on VHS and LaserDisc, to clue us in on what 'do will serve us best in business, romance, and combat situations. Here's an excerpt:
- Hi, I'm Doctor Jayce Skorton, head of psychiatric surgery at Penstroke Teaching Hospital. I'm also a successful patent attorney who is married. My kids? Thanks for asking, they're beautiful. I know what you're thinking: Jayce, what's your secret? How can I have a successful life of fulfillment like you? Well, the answer's simple (runs fingers through luxurious semi-permed chestnut mane). Hair...and plenty of it! (cuts to close-up). You know, there's an old saying: Give a man a haircut, he'll look great for a day. Teach a man to take care of his hair, and he'll de-compartmentalize the voice of his inner critic, a detached psychological gremlin I like to call "The Down-Thinker." Over the next six hours, I'll utilize my unique combination of sculpting gels to teach you how to-
At this point, our LaserDisc player went on the fritz, leaving the secrets of Dr. Skorton reburied in the sands of format obsolescence for future generations to uncover.
