Q:

I am interested in purchasing a groupon for myself & my husband. Could we do it at the same time, we leave out east, so if possible we were looking to drive together to do this.

Holly R.  asked on  Feb 14, 2012

A:

Hi Holly, Thanks for your question. The merchant can seat you and your husband one after the other but not at the same time. However, our spas are located within day spas where you can certainly receive relaxing services such as massages, manicures, haircuts, etc. while you and your husband wait for each other. They are also located in a large shopping center, so there is plenty to do while the other one is waiting. Have a great day! Cole

Q:

Groupon says "Experienced doctor instantly whitens teeth with UV-free treatments performed in spa-like office" but the location says it is at 1 of 2 Salon/Spa businesses. Is this indeed preformed by a Dr or a tech?

amanda j.  asked on  Feb 11, 2012

A:

Good afternoon Amanda, Dr. Barbara Wachs, the owner performs every teeth whitening. She is in the Plainview office Tues, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and Mineola on Wednesdays. If you needed the Mineola office on another day that is not a problem as long as we schedule that in advance. ModernSmile are located inside the day spas. Feel free to call us if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Q:

Hi. This week I had a tooth extracted near the back of my mouth, and I will be getting an implant there in a few months. In the meantime, will I be able to have the teeth whitening done while the gum and bone are healing? Thanks.

Patricia S.  asked on  Feb 11, 2012

A:

Good afternoon Patricia, Yes you can absolutely have the whitening before you get the implant and that is a good idea so that your dentist can match your whiter teeth before he places the implant. We recommend that you wait about 3-4 weeks after the extraction. Please call us at 516-855-1001 if you have any other questions. Thank you!

Q:

This is an unusual teeth whitening question. I have allot of crowns and small bridges and the front lower row of teeth are all being replaced by crowns in the next few months. So I know, and have been told before, that teeth whitening isn't really possible for me. But I don't think that is completely true. I have several of my original teeth that are grayish and really take away from my appearance. Pictures seem to only show the whiter teeth. So I want to know if I can have just these teeth whitened a few shades?

James G.  asked on  Feb 11, 2012

A:

Hi James, Yes you can have the teeth whitening. The teeth whitening will remove the surface stains from your dental work and bring them back to their original shade that your dentist placed years ago. The other natural teeth can be whitened and brightened and it is actually recommended and a great time to get a teeth whitening prior to replacing dental work so that your dentist can choose a shade for the crown and bridgework that matches your whiter teeth. Please call the office at 516-855-100 if you need further explanation. Thanks!
